Lilac Light Leaks

14 Jun

My Instax Mini took a tumble on the driveway at the farm today leaving piano black pieces and a partial pack of film out in the open. I decided to shoot with it anyway and will probably make these part of my tack locker decoration with blackbird clips. I don’t mind the lilac light leaks. You can at least see our new Passier Leo bridle in a couple of the photos.(Thanks mom!) We snagged it at a going out of business sale for a 4th of normal retail along with a great pair of black braided reins. All I need to do is get is a different bit for it. We have been doing more work with the “pony ” since some decent weather has arrived and it’s not terribly hot/cold/stormy/etc. (Thanks Ohio!) I’m looking forward to more combined pony/photo adventures this summer. I have a couple of photos to shoot on my Fisheye, Diana, Polaroid, and Instax Mini before too long. I also have a summer playlist in progress to share:

Polaroid Test 600 UV

As I sit here on my Macbook, using my Wacom tablet, having put this Polaroid into a digital form…I still want to tell you that for as many digital images as I will take and tweak and perfect, and control, I believe these analog forms have a strong place in art, culture, history, life…They are like the horses, in their surprises, imperfections, chemical reactions, and personalities. They should be enjoyed and preserved.

(More Silver Shade photos will be uploaded to the Flickr and our next adventure will be in transfers and new color shade film)

Enjoy.

Trinity Farm of the Western Reserve

4 May

I’m very pleased to finally be able to share one of the reasons I have been so BUSY lately! I have been working with Trinity Farm of the Western Reserve on many Plaid Pony design projects as well as Art On Wheels Inc. collaborative programs.

First and foremost,  Trinity Farm of the Western Reserve’s website is now fully functional!

For those of you who don’t know, ” Trinity Farm of the Western Reserve offers a combination of therapeutic, recreational and agricultural programs in a Christian environment. The Farm is designed to be handicapped accessible so that no person is restricted from participating due to structural barriers. Trinity Farm offers the highest quality of care for children, adults, and horses in a family friendly atmosphere. ”

We also just wrapped up Therapeutic Riding Program printed materials. The image on the front was taken during a pony painting session to promote a combination of hands-on equestrian and visual art education programs.

One such collaborative effort between Trinity Farm of the Western Reserve and Art On Wheels Inc. will take place this summer for  individuals of all abilities! If you are interested in participating  please don’t hesitate to call the farm for more information as there are a limited number of spots for each week.

Thermal Imaging Day!

28 Sep
We recently had the opportunity to have thermal images taken of Cash. Some horses have these images taken for preventative care, diagnostics, and treatment monitoring. Thankfully, our beast has worked out most of his kinks for the time being but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to gain a unique perspective on his current health. I hope you enjoy some of the colorful results.
