Summer Survival Guide/What’s in My Bag!

28 Jun

Hair and skin care from a pale skinned pony owner’s perspective:

Most of the products in our tack box get used at the homestead as well. They have to keep several feet of hair between my horse and I super duper strong and silky smooth. Eqyss Premier Shampoo and conditioner have been doing a great job year round for both of us. Eqyss Marigold fly spray has also been my favorite for natural, spectacular smelling bug repellant. Blue Lizard Sport is my top pick for sun screen this season standing up to long days out on the trail. Jojoba Oil is a stand by all year round for keeping our skin, hair, and nails smooth and hydrated. I often use this in place of products like Cowboy Magic in our horse’s hair.

Bare Minerals SPF 30 Natural Sunscreen has been a great non-greasy, tinted, powder alternative to liquid sun screens. It has a weightless, breathable formula that won’t clog pores or cause breakouts. It is also formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrance, Synthetic Dye, Petro-Chemicals, or Phthalates.

Bare Minerals Eyeshadow in True Gold and Summer  have been simple, lovely,  sun catching, shimmering accents for eyelids and cheekbones.

Everyday Minerals Pink Shimmer Blushes and Lucent Face Set have kept an even sun-kissed appearance.

My favorite scents for summer, most of which I blend with Pink Sugar :

Hollister Jake Cologne : Citrus on the uptake that pulls out with a woody base.

Oiseau – Woman In Yellow : a sun-warmed blend of fresh florals and citrus.

Bebe : combines juicy mango, leafy tuberose and yellow peonies.

Kat Von D Saint : “The sweet nectar of Mirabelle Plum and sparkling juicy mandarin create an addictive, mouth-watering top. At the heart, exotic, heady Tiare flower and sweet, tempting caramel are adorned with the velvety floralcy of jasmine. Sensual vanilla and creamy musk combine with the warmth of sandalwood for a comforting dry down.”

Pink Sugar : Bergamot, Sicilian Orange, Raspberry, Fig Leaves, Lily of the Valley, Licorice, Strawberry, Red Fruit, Cotton Candy, Vanilla, Caramel, Musk, Wood, Powder.

Hollister Laguna Beach : Peach, freesia and coconut milk combine to create a bright, refreshing scent.

Summer fashion for me needs to be effortless, comfortable and versatile. There are many days that I see friends, family, co-workers, and horses in the same day with no time to stop home and change for each environment. Lightweight layers are my friends for these occasions. Skinny jeans and leggings have been easy to switch between sandals, high heels, and riding boots. And lace, polkadots, and large plaids have been very uplifting when the heat wants to bring me down.

Sandals, Plaid Shirt, and Lace Tank : Abercrombie and Fitch

Polkadot Dress and White Tank : Hollister

Bag : The Plaid Pony

Belt : Ariat

I’ve been wanting to go shopping as well. Perhaps we can do some window shopping? I think I can make a pony anatomy sweatshirt happen. ~___^ I’m already over Summer and ready for Fall and Winter ASAP!

You make me want to go shopping. Love it all. I think I need a pony anatomy sweatshirt for my first fall/winter season back in Cleveland.
